In the previous article, we discussed various types of network devices that are important for monitoring. Network monitoring is really needed so that the company can reach high availability. Therefore, we also have to know all the existing network devices. In addition to network devices that have been discussed (routers, wireless cars, LAN cards, bridges, and hubs), there are still network devices that we have not discussed. Here are the network devices that we will discuss:

1. Switch

The way this device works is almost similar to a hub, but the switch is smarter in dividing the connection signal. Using switches, network area can be better and faster to send data. This device can also overcome data collisions.

2. Access Point

The function of this device is to emit signals from the router. The signal is used to create a WLAN network. Access points can also make us connect to a LAN network without using a cable. Then from that access point can be said to be able to connect two different networks, namely wireless networks and LAN networks.

3. Repeaters

Repeaters are devices that can amplify signals and expand the range of wifi signals. Repeater makes devices able to access wifi easily. Repeaters do not need to use cables so as to minimize the use of cables.

4. Nic

Network Interface Card (NIC) is a card that can connect computers with a LAN network. The device can connect to the network using a cable.

5. Connector

A connector is a vital tool for computer devices. If the connector is not installed, the computer cannot run optimally. The connector functions to connect cables with network adapters.

We understand and know the various network devices that must be monitored within the company. Not only one or two, but there are also more than five network devices that we must pay attention to. Imagine, in a company, there are many rooms that each room has many network devices. Can it be managed by a network engineer? In order to avoid human error, and achieving effectiveness in working using network monitoring tools is highly recommended.
